Post Birthday Weekend Summary

Updated: Aug 3, 2020

In case you were wondering, and even if you weren’t, I had a lovely Birthday and weekend.  I didn’t do anything exciting, but I got several unexpected surprises.

First my coworkers got me a lovely card and wrote some beautiful words inside.  The kindness of some of those words even brought me to tears once or twice.  To top it off they got me a gift card to Sprouts and a very cool 6 pack of Coca Cola glass birthday bottles.

The guy who bought them is just a few years younger than me and though I would find them nostalgic ‘considering my age’.  Hahaha!

One of my Birthday Cupcakes!

Once I got home a long time friend stopped by with the most beautiful cupcakes.  Another of our friends has a gourmet cupcake business on the side and they had both conspired to make my favorite Red Velvet cupcakes.

Apparently they were going to try to put little RV’s on them but something happened.  I wasn’t really listening at that point honestly, I just wanted to eat them.  I’ve put a picture of one of them here but it doesn’t do it justice. These things had all kinds of edible glitter on them and sparkled like diamonds!

This same friend gave me a book by Wayne Dyer I had not yet purchased for myself but had been really wanting, proving that he pays attention to the things I say after all.

My parents always pay attention and thus sent me several books on RVs and full-time RVing.  All of which were on my wish list, but they didn’t know that.  Mom said she just sent me what she knew she would want.  Smart lady.   I’ve actually already read completely through two of them, but the final one is more involved so I am taking my time and studying it well.

An even greater gift my Mom gave me for my Birthday is a weekend full of emails with pictures she scanned when I was a baby, of San Francisco, Oakland, etc.  All starting around the time I was born, and including pictures of yours truly.  I was a charming baby and toddler if I do say so myself.

Finally, today I was pulled aside by someone I recently spent some unexpected time with doing a little ‘off the clock/off the record coaching’.  He let me know he was greatly impacted by our discussion and thanked me because he felt an energy in the room the day we talked that has been with him since.

He said more things, but I think that sums it up pretty well and it made me feel pretty fantastic.   Many people don’t understand my intuitive & empathic nature, so when I am able to help someone and it impacts their life, I feel a wonderful sense of validation.

So that’s it for now.  Nothing terribly exciting, but it was a nice weekend.  Now I have a couple of days off to write and focus on work that will move me into my future, instead of putting in time for someone else!
